Follow this tip which allows you to transfer all your contacts outside Outlook Express to Outlook Online or to Windows Live Mail.
Windows live mail can't get boring because of your mail and contacts. It's really easy to switch from Microsoft's cloud messaging solution to browsing these addresses to Windows live Mail after you've created a large address book in your desktop version of Outlook Express.
N.B: Windows live Mail is currently called Outlook Online but in this two (Windows Live Mail and Outlook Online) will be used interchangeably. Note that, in both cases, outlook.live.com is the website for accessing this cloud email account.
Check your Outlook Expres contacts
This is the simple procedure for importing contacts from Outlook Express into Windows Live Mail:
Check how many contacts you have in Outlook Express currently before you start;
In the main window, Select Address Book in the Search section of the menu ribbon;
Review your contacts and note their number.
Import your Outlook Express address book into Windows Live Mail
To migrate your Outlook Express contacts to Windows Live Mail, follow these steps:
First export the contacts from Outlook Express as a CSV file. Select File in Outlook, then select Open and Export. Select Import / Export from the list;
In the import and export wizard, select Export to a file, then select Next;
Choose Values separated by commas, select Next. Select Contacts from the list, then select Next;
Give a name to the file, select Next, then Finish to save the file;
N.B: take note of the path of the file when you type it so that you know where to find the file after having exported it
Access Outlook Online and select the applications icon at the top left. Then select the People icon from the list;
Select Manage from the menu, then select Import contacts from the drop-down list;
In the Import contacts window, access the CSV file that you exported in step 4. Select Import to start the import process;
Once the CSV contact file is fully imported, your Outlook contacts appear in your Outlook Online contact list.
If you ever used Windows Live Mail (Outlook Online) to access Windows live Mail with a Windows Live account, then all the contacts you imported will be added to any other Windows Online account or other application as maybe you will use.
Transfer all your contacts outside Outlook Express to Outlook Online or Windows Live Mail. You must first verify your Outlook Express contacts and then import your Outlook Express address book into Windows Live Mail.
