Activating and deactivating full screen mode in microsoft edge - Intertuto

You can!!!!! Yes, you can use the Microsoft Edge browser to activate and deactivate full screen mode.

               To hide tabs, bookmarks bar, and address bar in Windows 10, you can view web pages in Microsoft Edge in full screen mode. You will not find any control when you are in full screen mode but the question is how to enter and exit this mode. The answer to this question is that there are several options for doing this.

NB: This article applies to the Windows 10 operating system. Windows 8.1, macOS or Google Chromebooks do not have Edge applications but from the start, mobile applications generally occupy the whole screen although several applications exist for iOS and Android mobile devices.

There is a big difference between full screen and maximized mode. As for full screen mode, it takes up the whole screen and displays what is on the web page itself only and you may be able to see the parts of the web browser you are used to like the bar bookmarks, address bar, or menu bar. While the enlarged mode occupies your entire screen knowing that the commands of the web browser are always available.

1. Use the F11 Toggle

The first thing is to open the Edge browser to use Microsoft Edge in full screen mode but you can also do it via the Start menu and perhaps from the taskbar. After opening the browser, click the F11 key to enter full screen mode even if the browser can either be enlarged or occupy only part of the screen. To return to the standard main page after using full screen mode, press the F11 key on the keyboard again because F11 is a toggle.

2. Use Windows + Shift + Enter

Windows + Shift + Enter places the Edge browser in full screen mode and this combination works for all applications of the Universal Windows Platform including also Store and Mail. This combination is a seesaw. The steps to use this key combination to enter and exit full screen mode:

 Open the Edge browser;

 Hold down the Windows and Shift keys, then click Enter;

 To exit full screen mode, repeat the operation.

3. Use the Zoom menu

You can activate full screen mode from the Zoom settings menu in the Edge browser. Locate the full screen icon in a location other than the menu because this menu is hidden if you want to exit the browser. These steps allow you to use the menu option to enter or exit full screen mode:

 Open your Edge browser;

 Select the Settings option and more represented by three horizontal dots in the upper right corner of the browser window (this opens a drop-down menu);

 On the Zoom option, select the full screen icon. This icon looks like a two-headed diagonal arrow;

 Select the full screen icon again at the top of the screen to deactivate full screen mode.

4. Use combinations to enter and exit full screen mode.

All the combinations given here are adequate to activate and deactivate full screen mode:

 Click on F11 on the keyboard to enter and to exit click on the full screen mode icon.

 Click on Windows + Shift + Enter to activate the full screen mode and click on the F11 key on the keyboard to exit.

 Click on the Settings menu and more, then on the full screen mode icon to enter and to exit click on Windows + Shift + Enter.

 Click on F11 to enter and on Windows + Shift + Enter to exit.

 Click on Parameters, then on More to enter and press the F11 key to exit.
