            You have the option in Gmail to name some of your contacts as delegates to your account. With this status, they will have access to your Gmail account like you, they can read, send and delete emails on your behalf as well as manage your contacts. Instead of giving your password to another user to access your account, this solution is better because it is more practical and secure. once you give your password to another user it not only causes a lot of problems but it gives access to all of your Google services.
N.B: You must make sure that the person you want to appoint as your delegate has a Gmail account with a Gmail email address. com because without a Gmail account, it is impossible that no one can serve as an assigned delegate.


How to assign a delegate to your Gmail account


An assigned delegate uses your Gmail account for limited purposes and cannot view or change important account settings. To appoint a delegate, follow these instructions:
 Click on the Settings icon in the upper right corner of the screen;
 Select Parameters in the menu appearing;
 Press the Accounts and import tab;
 In the Grant access to your account section, click on Add another account;
 Enter the Gmail e-mail address of the person to whom you want to entrust the management of your account in the E-mail address field, then click Next step;
 Click Send Email to grant access;
 Wait for the recipient to accept the request. Before he can act as a delegate by email, the recipient must first accept your request.


Connect to a Gmail account as a delegate


These instructions allow you to open a Gmail account to which a delegate has been assigned:
 Open your Gmail account and click on your profile icon in the upper right corner of the Gmail screen;
 Select the desired account under Delegated accounts;
 The owner and all other delegates with access can read and send mail simultaneously via the Gmail delegate account.


What a Gmail delegate can and cannot do


These are the actions that a delegate assigned to an account can perform:
• Reading and sending e-mails, including replies. When a delegate sends a message via the account, his email address is indicated as the sender;
• Delete messages;
• Access and manage Gmail contacts in the account.
And these are the actions that a delegate assigned to an account cannot perform:
• Chat with anyone using Hangouts;
• Change your Gmail password.


Revocation of delegate access to a Gmail account


These steps help you remove someone from the list of delegates with access to your Gmail account:
 Access the Accounts and import tab by clicking on the gear icon> Settings> Accounts and import;
 Under Grant access to your account, click Delete next to the delegate's email address to which you want to revoke access;
 Click OK;
 Any delegate who accesses your Gmail account when you delete their status can take action until they log out of Gmail.
N.B: granting delegate status to too many people located in different places is sanctioned by Google by blocking the Gmail account granting this status.
